Frequently asked questions

Q

Will my after dinner speaker come to the dinner?

Professional speakers may be happy to do to attend the dinner and meet your guests. Comedians usually decline. Sometimes a speaker may be a surprise for the audience so it’s not appropriate for them to be seen before they are due to perform. If this aspect is integral to your event, it’s best to ask right at the beginning, before you book.

Q

Can you help me with no-fee enquiries?

We regret that we are unable to fulfil requests for no-fee speakers, signed memorabilia, raffle prizes and personal appearances.

DBA Speakers spends considerable time and resources each year on charitable and pro-bono work. Most of our speakers also support charities which they have chosen, often for personal reasons. Charities we have supported recently include Air Ambulance Service, DEBRA, Stroke Association, Soroptimists of Great Britain & Ireland , Rotary, Hounds for Heroes, The Blue Lamp Trust, The Millennium Centre and St Wulfram’s Church. In 2015 our chosen charities are Helping Elsewhere, Stroke Association and the Samaritans.

Q

Is DBA Speakers recognised in the events industry?

Yes. DBA Speakers was founded in 1995 and we are among the first companies to be admitted to EASB (European Association of Speaker Bureaux) founded in 2013.
