David Vickery

David Vickery provides a professional, skilled, unflappable “safe pair of hands”.  His judgment and sincerity, combined with a ready wit and humour, enable him to progress argument, stimulate debate, and to ensure yours is a stimulating and memorable event.
He is willing to help enhance performances of the “home” speakers where requested - from providing advice on scriptwriting, to coaching participants in delivery on a one-to-one or group basis.

David knows how important your event is to you and will work with you to understand your aims and intentions.

David’s TV experience has taken him across Europe and North America as director and presenter of business profiles, talking to business leaders, for broadcast on Euronews, Star TV and CNBC. He helps other people to look and sound good.

Interviewing has always been one of David’s strengths. He co-hosted the consumer affairs programme HIGH STREET produced by Granada TV, and for Channel Five’s Espresso his companion on the couch was Edwina Currie. His corporate clients include Qinetiq, TDK, Sainsbury’s, Boots, Nikken, IVCA, MFI, Orange, Digital, and the CII.

David Vickery has been speaking in public for a long time, from when he was five years old. This led to a love of live performance, pursued at the University of Reading where he achieved a BA Honours degree in Film and Drama (with History) and on to post-graduate training as an actor at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

A career in theatre led him to television and a sustained career in the presentation departments of most major UK broadcasters including Channel Four, Discovery Channel, BBC World Service TV and Channel Five on which his was the opening voice.

Television from behind the microphone quickly turned into hosting in front of camera. David enjoyed huge local recognition in the South of England as host of the TVS overnight service Late Night Late onto which he invited guests from all walks of life for a decidedly subversive take on the world.

He also sported suit and tie to anchor TVS News thereafter hosting quiz, consumer, factual, arts and entertainment programmes for BBCTV, Granada TV, BSB, Channel Five and Discovery Channel. Hosting live events at the London Palladium, Alexandra Palace and The Grosvenor House has given David some of the greatest pleasure in his career. Most recently, David hosted the live awards event for LIVECOM – the annual ceremony for leading live events producers.

A leading voiceover artist and broadcaster, David has voiced over 1650 television documentaries for National Geographic, Discovery, History Channel, Channel 5, Biography Channel and Crime and Investigation Network.

His voice is best described as warm, educated, light, silky, emotive and authoritative.
